Chris’s diverse experience includes research and evaluation projects throughout
Australia and New Zealand.
Chris has enjoyed building his knowledge by combining traditionally separate skill
sets throughout his career. He also contributes to Precise skills honed through
database development (Chris has worked with EDS and Commonwealth Bank of Australia),
academic biotechnology research and development of need profiling tools (Catholic
Education Commission).
Chris’s background emphasizes problem-solving skills, in-depth analysis and writing
high quality reports. He draws upon this varied experience to bring our numbers
to life!
John Holm
Sociologist & Statistician
(B.A. Psych, M.A., M.R.)
John Holm has over 10 years of experience working with data in an organisational
improvement framework. He brings the uniquely powerful approach of combining human
insights from psychology and sociology, with hard data from statistics.
This combination has proved a potent tool for project success across a range of
complex projects for Government and private clients.
John has a Masters degree in the foundations of management practice, and his thesis
has been adapted into a book titled ‘Advances in Organization Studies’. John has
recently returned to Australia from the United Kingdom where he completed a Doctoral
degree. He still retains his consulting relationship with Precise.
John combines his unique understanding of human nature and hard data to arrive at
practical solutions for business.
Doug Shaw
Statistician
Statistician
PhD, AStat
Doug Shaw has been a statistical consultant for over forty years. For the last twenty-five
years he has worked primarily in the application of statistics and data analysis
in industry, business and administration. One of Doug’s particular interests is
in how organisations measure their performance at all levels, and how they interpret
and use those measurements to improve their performance to gain competitive advantage.
Doug brings deep understanding of organisational management, and the role of data
and analysis in effective management. He has been an Evaluator for the Australian
Business Excellence Awards, and the Australian Quality Awards before them. In 1994
he was elected an Honorary Life Member of the Statistical Society of Australia for,
amongst other things, his contributions to the practice of industrial statistics
in Australia.
Doug has a B.Sc. in Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics from the University
of Sydney, and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the Department of Statistics at the University
of Wisconsin - Madison. He has been awarded the status of Accredited Statistician
by the Statistical Society of Australia.
Doug’s work is dedicated to providing decision-makers with the best possible data
and analysis to support their activities.
